Data Manager (m/f/d)
with a focus on Ophthalmology
Location: Remote work within Germany
Start: Flexible – according to your availability
Working hours: Full-time or part-time (min. 25 hrs/week)
For more than ten years, targomed in Bruchsal has stood for expertise, reliability, and commitment – as a trusted partner for clinical studies and medical writing in ophthalmology.
Shape the future of ophthalmology with us – data-driven, innovative, and meaningful.
You’re passionate about structured thinking, clinical data and quality standards? You’d like to contribute your experience in data management and at the same time take the next step – into a role with room to shape and improve processes? Then you’ve come to the right place!
You will support our data management team with a clear focus: clinical studies with medical devices in the field of ophthalmology at the highest level.
What you can expect
- Quality meets ophthalmology – A key part of your role is to review study data in terms of their plausibility and meaningfulness in the context of ophthalmology (remote data checks). You will assess ophthalmological measurements and findings for plausibility and clinical consistency and derive corresponding queries.
- Quality meets innovation – You will develop forms and case report forms (CRFs), perform data-based plausibility checks and support the entire data flow – from data entry to database lock.
- Scientific & practice-oriented – You will work closely with Medical Writing and Study Management and accompany the studies from planning through to final data analysis.
- Room for ideas – You will actively help shape standards, processes and tools – your experience and innovative ideas matter!
- Growth with perspective – You contribute your expertise, share it with others and have the opportunity for continuous personal development.
What you should bring
- Motivation to work intensively with clinical data in ophthalmology.
- Experience in ophthalmology – e.g. through clinical work or involvement in ophthalmological studies – as well as confidence in handling typical ophthalmological parameters and findings.
- Professional experience in clinical data management – you are familiar with workflows and ideally tools such as CRF design and EDC systems.
- Experience in the scientific/medical assessment of ophthalmological study data.
- Experience in clinical query management and ideally initial experience in the evaluation of SAEs, AEs, DDs, PDs.
- Ability to create and adapt MS Excel-based tools for data evaluation and plausibility checks.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English – for documentation, communication and international collaboration with colleagues and clients.
- Confident use of MS Excel; additional knowledge of statistical tools is a plus.
- A structured, customer-oriented and quality-conscious way of working and enjoyment in taking on responsibility.
- Whether you have a university degree, vocational training or joined via a non-traditional path: if you have experience in clinical data management and a strong understanding of ophthalmological study data, you are a great fit for us.
What we offer
- Room to shape things – actively influence structures and developments rather than just administering.
- Flexible working hours – full-time or part-time, adapted to your life situation.
- Location-independent work – remote within Germany possible.
- A culture of appreciation – enjoy a collegial team with flat hierarchies.
- Exciting interdisciplinary projects – closely linked to medicine and science.
- Personal and professional development – we provide the space for sustainable growth.
