Your role – responsibility with foresight

You will take on the scientific leadership of our medical writing team. This means you will not only oversee the preparation of clinical reports but also accompany the writing of medical-scientific texts and presentations. You will develop internal standards, supervise regulatory documents, and coordinate a small, highly specialized team. Together with colleagues from data management, clinical research, and statistics, you will make a decisive contribution to well-founded, compliant, and persuasive medical communication.


What you can expect

  • Taking responsibility – You will lead our medical writing team scientifically and actively contribute to its further development.
  • Coordinating and supporting – You will manage medical-scientific and regulatory texts in ophthalmology, especially for medical devices according to EU MDR 2017/745.
  • Diverse writing tasks – from drafting to reviewing:
    • Clinical study reports (e.g., Clinical Investigation Reports)
    • Scientific publications, specialist articles, and presentations
    • Data analyses
    • Clinical evaluations, PMCF, and PMS documents
  • Ensuring quality – You guarantee scientific excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding and interpreting data – You will support the analysis of clinical data in ophthalmology.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration – You will work closely with data management, biostatistics, and clinical project management.
  • Providing structure – You will organize, prioritize, and oversee ongoing projects with subject-matter expertise.

What you should bring

  • Solid experience in ophthalmology is essential – ideally through work in medical writing, clinical research, or ophthalmology itself.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in medical writing.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements (EU MDR, MDCG, ISO 14155 / GCP, ICH guidelines).
  • Experience in leading teams scientifically or in taking on senior project responsibility.
  • Strong proficiency in medical language (German and English).
  • Motivation, communication skills, and a high standard of quality.
  • A structured, independent working style and strong organizational skills.
